Homeschool??

So today Preston enjoyed gymnastics again… once I got him there. I locked my keys inside the house and had to have Jarod come back to unlock the house… woohoo me! He was only 10 minutes late and a majority of the class was late too.

After we dropped Preston off Kyla and I headed over to a friend’s house for a Homeschooling info. meeting. I like to know what my options are so I wanted to see where Homeschooling has come. It’s come so far from when I was in school. There is such a better network, matterials and outside programs that welcome Homeschooling groups. I have no plans to take Preston out of school to Homeschool or Kyla either. But you never know anymore and I like to know what’s out there.

I think for the time being since Kyla has at least 2 more years before K that I’ll join up with a friend whose child is about the same age and do some Preschool Homeschool stuff. She has the interest right now so as long as it’s there I’ll flow with it :0)!

Ice Cream and Swimming

Preston is still loving Gymnastics Camp! He’s was a little bummed when it was over today, good thing he gets to go back tomorrow. The teacher said he was very well behaived, yay me :0)! He loves it so I don’t doubt that he’s doing really well.

After lunch we headed over to the Library as they were having an Ice Cream Social to celebrate their 10th anniversary and the end of the summer reading program.

Back in the groove

So it’s Monday and we’re all getting back in the groove of things.

Preston started Gymnastics camp this morning. LOVES it!!! He has it all week for 3 hours a day. I’ll pry sign him up for Gymnastics this winter or after Soccer is done… one thing at a time.

Kyla and I hung out at home getting things cleaned up before a friend came over. We watched our friend Ryan while his Mom took his brother to an eye appt. It’s always easier to take one to an appt.! We went and got Preston, had lunch and then played outside. Everyone had fun.

After that we hung out for a while. Kyla went swimming, my new little fish! Preston played some Xbox and then we hit the library to return some books and get some new ones.

Oh and I made a million phone calls… catching up on everything I had put on hold before and during vacation. It feels really good to have a “fresh start” this week. Vacation was defintely worth it!!

We’re Home

Cape Cod

We made our way home today from a long relaxing but busy vacation on Cape Cod. It was nice to get away and get a fresh start this week. We’ve had a lot of mishaps happen and we needed this week away. The Campresort was nice and had lots of stuff to do and the Cape has a ton of stuff you can do. You could be there for a month and still not do everything. So if/when we go back there are things we would like to do.

But first I’ll let you all in on our past week….

Before we got to the Cape Cod Campresort we had a little fender bender, everyone is okay, the Tahoe has a couple dents on the front bumper and the bumper was pushed back a bit on the right side. Hopefully it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to fix!

After we got there we got settled in we just hung out and enjoyed the evening, well besides the part of Preston wanting to do EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING!!! We had, what was considered, a large site. We were on the corner and did have a LOT of space, it was nice!

The next day we spent the morning riding bikes, went to the pool and in the afternoon we went to the lake, all at the CampResort.

Preston on his bike, convincing Dad to get on his. Preston either rode his bike or scooter EVERYWHERE at the Camp Ground!

I forgot my camera when we went to the pool but don’t worry I didn’t forget it the next time :0)

Wednesday we went to Old Silver Beach. It was a great beach for the kids! Parking was outrageous, $20 but if we would’ve checked with the Campground office we could’ve gotten 1/2 price parking tickets, oh well, live and learn! Anyways, it was a VERY calm beach and VERY shallow for a long ways into the ocean. Everyone had a great time. We spent the whole day there.

Preston finally has an interest in Baseball! Yes, Dad was very excited to play catch with his son!

Thursday we hopped on a trolley from Falmouth to Woods Hole and went to the Aquarium. Oh but before the aquarium I have to mention what a small world it is. After we got off the trolley and started walking up to the aquarium we crossed paths with Debbie and her family. Debbie is one of my Moms’ Group friends(they also loaned us their tile saw so we could do the floors!). So that was crazy!

Okay back to the aquarium. It was a small but something to do and it was donations only no fees, can’t beat that! :0)

Friday, the big day, the Whale Watching day!!! Yep, we took the kids whale watching. Jarod has gone before, on the West Coast. The rest of us were first timers! It was awesome!! We had a great morning, yes I said morning. We got up at 6:30 and drove about a half hour to Barnstable Harbor and the boat left at about 8:00am. Two reasons we went so early, less people and coupons! We saw a whole bunch of whales, they were feeding. We even got to see a Mom and Baby and we got to see them breaching(jumping out of the water). It was a great trip and the kids loved it!! Kyla even slept on the way back :0).

Saturday. We just hung out at the pool on Saturday and took it easy:

Evidence that I was actually there ;0). Kyla and I in the pool:

Kyla’s new trick, yes, that would be her leaping high into the air. She mastered this new fun thing called, jumping into the pool in a few jumps and then proceeded to do nothing but jump in…. all day!!

AND that’s all folks. That pretty much wraps up our vacation! Like I said we had a great time and are now ready to tackle all the stuff that we’ve been putting off :0).

Hope you enjoyed the pix and sorry about the long post…. it took me forever!

OH and don’t worry, videos will be coming real soon!!!!!!!!

The beach!

So today we got up and headed off to the beach, Old Silver Beach, I think was the name. It was a good beach for the kids. Very shallow and it stayed shallow for a very long way out into the ocean. Both kids were out in it as far as they could go. It was a lot of fun!

We stayed all day and enjoyed the nice sunny day. Tomorrow is suppose to be rainy so we may head to the aquarium or something. I gotta look up a couple things after I post this.

OH and photos are taking WAY too long to upload so you all are gonna have to wait until we get back for visuals… sorry!!

We’re here

SO we’re here at Cape Cod!!

It took a little bit to get here as we had a minor accident on the way down! There was an accident at one of the exits and traffic came to a hault and even though Jarod stood(literally) on the breaks and we almost came to a stop but not quite so we ended up rear-ending a van. Luckily it had a metal bumper so the Tahoe just buckled it. They couldn’t open the doors. And our Tahoe has a couple of dents in the bumper and it may have pushed the bumper back and inch or two…. love my Tahoe! No air bags or nothing. Kyla didn’t even wake up!!!

After that we finally got to the Campground and got all set up only to find out the electric didn’t work. Come to find out only one of the outlets work, there were two. So after the electrician came we got an adapter and all is fine!

So finally we got completely settled and got Preston to calm down about wanting to do EVERYTHING right then!!

On to today. We got up a bit early and I took the kids to the playground while walking C.J.. We then headed back and got Dad and went to the pool. Then back to the trailer for lunch and to hang out for a bit. THEN down to the lake for the afternoon. After and awesome chicken dinner I made Preston and Dad headed back to the pool! Inbetween all of this Preston rode his bike and scooter!! He also rode his bike and scooter to the pool, playground and lake!

I’m just now getting on the internet, as you may have noticed, so tomorrow I’ll get some photos posted!!

We’re off to the beach tomorrow!

packing

It’s so nice to get things done ahead of time. With knowing that Jarod was going to be gone all last week I knew that I had to get the trailer loaded by myself which pushed me to do a little bit each day instead of waiting until the last minute! Today I ran a couple errands, Kyla went with me and then came home so Jarod could go to his baseball game, it gone rained out after 2 innings!

We got all of our clothes in the trailer along with toys and pool/beach stuff. It’s nice knowing that it’s all done, well besides the last minute errands we have to do tomorrow. Nothing big just dropping Boo off at JoAnna’s and picking up a bike trailer from another friend. Oh and we need to run into the trailer store to grab a thing for the sewer hook-up… woo fun!

But before all of that we have to get up cause a contractor is coming to give us an estimate on the dryeall repair. The liability people from Sears need official estimates from the contractors…. always something to delay their decisions!!!!

Anyways, going to bed!

Last night

So last night was Game Night at my house. We only had 4 people but we had fun! I made some After Party punch and a friend brought Jello shots and of course we had snacks. Besides talking all night we played Catch Phrase which is a fun game but it’s hysterical after you’ve been drinking :0). It was a good night and I needed it since Jarod’s been in Canada all week!!

Today Kyla was up at 5am, awesome after a night of drinks. Though actually it wasn’t bad waking up this morning! After we got up and got going I vacuumed the pool out, mowed the lawn, trimmed the trees, a friend stopped by for a few minutes to drop off some Canobie Lake tickets, we then went to Misty’s house to go swimming, returned home and I vacuumed out my car and now I just got done loading food into the trailer. One busy day if I do say so myself.

Preston swimming at Chandler\'s

Kyla swimming at Misty\'s

It was nice to take a break and head up to Misty’s to go swimming. Preston hasn’t seen Chandler in a while and they always have a good time together. Plus it was nice to hop in an in-ground pool again :0).

It also feels good knowing all that needs to be put in the trailer is clothing and toys. Though I do want to run to the grocery store tomorrow to get some bread, lunch meat and veggies.

Jarod will be home here in a few so Preston is staying up to see him, which has been really fun. He really needs his “own” time without Kyla around and he’s getting a good dose of right now. He hung out with me in the trailer and colored for a while, rode his bike and then I had him sit down with me and we looked for lightening bugs. He was so excited to see them and bats!! He counted the stars caught a frog and wandered around the yard and house with his flashlight. He’s such a great kid and he’s been soooo sweet latley. It’s so nice when I get to see his awesome manners and deep thoughts. He’s really starting to express himself with his words more, which has been something we’ve worked on for a while(at school too) and it’s so neat to see how deep his thoughts are. He and I are really a lot alike, which is why we butt heads so much…… hi Dad :0).

Well, tomorrow I’m hoping to get the backyard mowed so it’s not a complete amazon when we get back. Other then that it’s just running some errands and getting the laundry done, which I will start doing as soon as I log off.

Catch ya later :0)

So figured I’d post now

Some friends are coming over here in a few so I figured I’d post now because frankly I won’t be able to later :0).

We headed over to Preston’s friend’s house today. He hung out at Jared’s while I ran some errands. Kyla and I returned a bike to Chrissy(thanks!), that she loaned us while Joshua was here, then we went to Shaw’s and got some bread, spinach dip and juices(to mix). After that we hit the Liquor store. It was really weird taking a kid in there but hey, gotta do whatcha gotta do. Then the lady had to look at my ID TWICE. I mean seriously, I’m 30, do I really look 20…. I’ll take it though :0). We then retuned to Jared’s house and hung out there for about another hour and then headed home for dinner. I now need to get the kids in bed before people get here… good thing Kyla is tired!

Oh, here are some photos of my last hair cut, it was cut on the 12th:
